Superintendents Corner

Week of August 30th

Today is Tuesday August 31. Last night we had 1.00" of rain fall. We have a very wet golf course this morning. The benefit is we drain well and it will dry up quick, this is also a negative, but I will take the quick drainage any day. We will spend the morning doing our regular tasks and fixing wash outs in Bunkers from the rain.

It looks like the heat is going to break after today. I know many people like the heat, but as I have stated before it has put a lot of stress on the turf and the grass needs a break. The cooler weather will benefit the root system, and overall health of the turf. Several employees have gone back to college or to teach, so we are down to a smaller crew.

Clubhouse construction is in full swing several different trades are working. The basement is nearly framed in and they will start putting in door frames. Concrete work continues and the back side of the building. Framing of the kitchen area, hall of fame area, and what we call the pre-function area will continue this week.

Have a Great week
